July 27 is...

July 27 is 'take your pants for a walk' day
Well that's 7 days in a row celebrating obscure national holidays with a scribble for each day (mostly done on a whiteboard).
Here goes to see if I can manage 24 more, for a 31 day run...

July 22 is...

July 22 is National rat catcher's day
This reminds me of a book I read as a kid called 'A poacher's tale'.
One of the anecdotes involved someone who was paid by the council for rats he killed, and they only took the tails in exchange for payment.
He would then meet someone around the back and buy back for cheap some of the tails to mix into his next batch. Too many do-overs would result in suspicion from rotten tails, so he had to be careful to keep his ruse working over time!

July 21 is...

beep...beep...beep...bebeep...beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Once a year would probably be fine for eating junk food!
Possibly even doctor recommended...?

I'm lovin' my Betabook whiteboard page, there's something fun about erasing all my scribbles. A bit like an Etch-A-Sketch, but with looser lines!

I also posted this to my facebook artist page, where I may end up posting to more often to than here.

Portable whiteboard sketching thing

I recently backed a project on Kickstarter called Betabook.

The reward I pledged for was a sheet of whiteboard paper, an eraser cloth and a whiteboard pen, to do with what you will.

I clamped it to a piece of foamcore for a pageless sketchbook you simply erase after taking a pic and then you start over.

It's fun! Doodling pongsters in the tub or tennis players in front of the TV (Wimbledon is on right now) for some spindly action scribbles.

I give it a good going over with a paper towel moistened with whiteboard cleaner every now and then to keep the eraser cloth from getting too overwhelmed with ink!
